Is it something they add in or is it a by product of an ingredient? After trying to limit caffeine, I tried caffeine free Coca-Cola and it doesn't taste the same. So removing the caffeine obviously has an impact on the taste. Why?

The whole reason they put it in is so it tasted better, the company doesn't care how bad the beverage is for you they just care if it sells good, so they put everything they could think of to make it taste it's best.

Many use it for the energy boost. In the middle of the day, its hard to drink a hot cup of coffee but easy to drink a cool can of coke

1st so you'll crave it and 2ndly so it gives you a boost of energy. That would be like asking why isnt there caffeine in coffee
