Cocker Spaniels are a good choice of breed for kids. and they dont malt. they r also very playful and cute!

why not try the mexican hairless this solves the molting but i dont know about the temperament or suitability with kids also why not look at the toy poodle

get a sweet Beagle-they love everyone and are especially fond of kids,and they don't shed a lot.
