My wedding is outside. Reception inside. Our colors are purple (closer to eggplant) and a soft yellow. Unfortunately our mongram would be "c O w" ...so we're not going with that. I don't think my fiance would really be behind butterflies or anything too "girly."

I need ideas!

*peacock feather
*dragonfly
*just the monogram for 'O'
*just a swirl shape
*jewels
*masquerade
Shapes and simple outlines help keep it from being too feminine. Try the dragonfly outline. Exapmples: Use a stamp on place cards and invitations./ Incorporate Peacock feathers into your centerpieces and bouquets./ Use swirl shape on the cake decorations and a stamp for place cards and invites.
You get the idea.
Hope this helps. :D

*Why don't you do all white tables with tealights and tiny crystals on the tables---the light will look fantastic coming off of the crystals.
*Napkins can be that purple color along with maybe a swag of some sort on the chairs in the same color.
*I would stay away from mixing the two colors on the table...it will make for too much color and you want people paying attention to YOU not to the colors on the table.
*Simple centerpieces of the flowers of your wedding in fishbowls (no fish, but in a glass vase that looks like a fish bowl) and you can do that in the yellow and purple.

Hope that helps a bit...

purple and yellow lillys as centerpieces on the tables, and small bubble blowers with purple and yellow ribbons tied on them. Also, take purple and yellow individual votive candles and place them (1 in each) in wine glasses, with that mesh around them and ribbons, and use small picture frames with purple and yellow beads hot glued to them with names inside at each setting insead of place cards, so people can bring them home. Candles and flowers at the tables may seem girly, but its a wedding. Trust me your man is expecting that. And they are classy colors will look very nice, and its bettery than butterflies! Congrats!

Why those colors is it a royal crest or something?Im sorry to be negative but I would change them.I cant think of any motif and years later you will probly be like why did I pick that?Like my sister put her bridesmaids in dresses with colors like lime green and pepto bismol pink.So far as anything being too girly if he is straight and secure about his sexuality you should be able to have whatever you want.Butterflys, bubbles, whatever.Wedding are supposed to be girly .Its about you and him but its not supposed to be a trucker convention either.I really wish you the best but your colors are ugly.I dont mean to be mean its just true.

Black and white weddings are super. in case you reside in a super city, have your wedding ceremony on a city roof precise with club like lights and many type in ingredients ( chinese language, Italian, Indian, Thai..etc ) Have a gourmand coffee bar. in case you reside interior the country you ought to do an outdoors wedding ceremony with various delicate florals and backyard like flora. Serve southern ingredients with candy iced tea and function a non classic cake like strawberry short cake. subject your wedding ceremony around whichever season you opt for for and use that as your shade pallet additionally. Pastels for spring, dazzling hues like yellow (sunflowers) and crimson for summer season, heat and earth tones for fall (burgundy, chocolate, darkish eco-friendly) and Golds, Reds, Silver and easy-weight Blue for a wintry climate wedding ceremony. in case you supply me a date or greater historic past information i ought to help some greater. :)

You colors sound beautiful. I don't think you really need a motif. You're going to have flowers, and a cake what other decorations do you need?

Feathers - use them in the flowers & centre pieces, even on invitations & name place cards - very pretty & not too girly

I fit were me I'd worry more about preparing for the marriage as opposed to the "wedding". Keep it simple and focus on your future not just the few hours you'll spend "getting married". It can still be special and lovely-a day to remember forever, but it will mean more if you actually stay married for 50 years. I hope you have a wonderful day and a happy marriage-best wishes
