No, apes have been around for at atleast 12 million years but it it is also inaccurate to say humans evolved from chimps. Chimps and humans had a common ancestor about 6 million years ago, give or take a million. Some recent fossils indicate that both humans and chimps seem to have evolved from upright walking apes. Therefore our bipedalism is the primitive trait and chimps knucklewalking if the derived trait. So the chimp theoretically evolved from a biped that probably at least superficially resembled humans more than chimps. Certainly the common ancestor had a brain more like a chimp than a human. A modern human could not keep up a chimp in its environment where the Chimp is far more advanced and evolved to survive.

No. Because they have not continued to evolve. No documented eyewitness proof since the beginning of the bible times on in history. Man also has not evolved into anything else. It stands to reason that if apes evolved into man then man would have also continued to evolve. Every documented find of what is considered evolving of apes has been shown inaccurate. Case in point is Lucy who it was found later was actually an ape that died in the same area as many men had.

no because the process of evolution allows you to evolve into a more sophisticated being.,... Apes are definely not as sophisticated as humans... walking upright and stuff... and also you do not see any apelike humans around.. and apes have been around for llonger.
