Who says SP stands for Service Pack? it could be something totally different (e.g. Superior Product)??????? who knows.

Its as ok to buy that as it is to buy any other version of Windows. Just make sure you are getting an official copy (all the hologramming and such). Otherwise, as soon as you do your first update your OS will bug you constantly about not having a genuine copy (this could happen even if you do buy a legitimate copy though, it is Microsoft after all, you don't expect them to actually be able to make a working product do you?)

No. Just buy XP with SP2 and use windows updates to get any updates if there are any.

if you already own a copy of windows xp you can freely download from microsofts very own download centre. have patience it is a large download but it is FREE. hope this helps
