I do not agree with you. My mom is Christian, my father is a Theist, my brother and sister are athiests and I myself am an Occultist. We get along just fine and religious tolerance is something all of us stand for. I do not believe the home environment directly dictates religion.

True, as children we really only have an opportunity to learn what our parents expose us to, but I changed religion as soon as I was out of my parents' home. I knew when I was 11 years old that what I was learning was not completely correct, but it took me nearly 20 more years to finally find the correct path.
Religious beliefs are spoon fed to children, but there is plenty of information available. Nobody who is reading this site has any excuse for ignorance.

I was not spoon fed by religion. How do you explain my turning to GOD as a child. I'm sorry, maybe the religion thing is created, but GOD does exist. No one in my family went to church or practiced the faith. So, explain how GOD found me. You really should stop worshipping SATAN and open your heart. You will be surprised by what GOD has to tell you.

My parents are athiest. I chose to go to church and I chose to get christened when I was eleven.
However I'm probably going to christen my own children as babies and take them to church with me until they are old enough to decide for themselves. Not because I'm mean, but I want them to know that there is more to life than what you can see, and I want them to know that they are never alone and that if something happens and I am not there then there will always be someone to care for them.

The same applies to everything you learned, including not putting you finger in that power plug because they believed it would hurt you. Should you have made your own choices and stuck your finger in it if you wanted to?

Maybe that is your experience in your culture, but here in America, we are not forced. My parents didn't send us to church or take us, we took ourselves. We chose to go.
