Recently met a guy who seems to be nice, but it has become clear that he's not my type. He's ten years younger than me (he's 35), but acts even younger than that. He's already talking about marriage, and we haven't been on one date. He has a five year old kid, and I'm not interested in having kids of my own or raising others' kids. NOT interested in dealing with baby mama's drama, period! It appears he is still living at home, judging by the name I saw on my caller ID when he left me a message.

Just be honest. Say, "you seem to be nice but it's clear you're not my type. Best of luck with your life. Take care. Bye." If he demands to know why he isn't your type, just say you're looking for something different in your life. You don't owe him anything.
Be polite yet firm and honest. Period.
(PS I agree with you- NO WAY would I want this guy either! RUN RUN fast and far away.)

The sad part is that even if you do it perfectly there are still bound to be hurt feelings that may manifest themselves in anger towards you. Just be kind and honest and even if he is upset at first he will eventually come around. Plus you'll at least know you did the right thing even if he doesn't

be firm and fair but be quick as the longer it goes on the harder it becomes for all concerned,He is probably trying to find a mother for his son and sounds alittle desperate to me,, poor guy probably has not had much chance to date if he is looking after a 5 year old, must have some qualities, however if he is not for you let him no quickly.
ps im 46 and looking for nothing

if you don't like him tell him the truth. Tell him he just doesn't have what you are looking for and you aren't ready to take on the responsibility of his past so you just don't think that the two of you make a good match....

be honest with him.
honesty is the key to any relationship...or non relationship.
my relationships have been disasterous because i was not completely honest with how i was feeling. if you keep this going on, you'll wind up hurting him more but also hurting yourself more.
so be honesty, but not brutally honest. be nice, but not leading him on nice.

You say that you're sorry, but you don't think that it is going to work out between the two of you, and leave it at that.

Tell him that you 're only interested in being his friend and he should understand. Just tell him he's not your type.
