No it isn't, but if you are a chronic weed smoker and have tried not to, that's a side effect. If these feelings don't go away in a few weeks you may have GAD(generalized anxiety disorder), or not to frighten you,but maybe something a little more psychologically serious. My son did all kinds of drugs for a number of years to self-medicate his paranoia and only ended up making everything worse. True paranoia is an unrealistic fear, even terror, and being frightened and fearful all the time. If you think that smoking weed alleviates that anxiety, fine, but in reality it may be blowing your fears out of control. I do not smoke or do any drugs myself but I know a lot that do without any repercussions so I'm not judging you in any way. You definitely need to talk to your doc or a mental health nurse, someone you feel you can trust. Get help. You've already taken the first step by asking the question. Best of luck to you!

smoking the weed causes paranoid thoughts even if you aren't under the influence. This why a pot head is called a pot head. The effects of smoking are long lasting and some time not reversible. So if your always paranoid and used to smoke, that could be it. Either way ,you need help. Go see a shrink.

Human beings have the ability to block out things that are unwelcome. This keeps from getting a sensory overload
that might cause a breakdown to the nervous system.
I believe the overload of sight and sounds, (noise pollution), is
causing a breakdown in our nervous systems. This is causing
our bodies to react, creating all these "disorders".
They are more physiological, (body chemistry), types of
disorders than mental. And all the psycho/logical blah, blah,
blah, is making us nuttier than we are.

yes... it is. especially if you are a teenager, because this is a time where you identity develops and grows a lot.

and know that talking about it to someone you trust will generally make it fade down a little.

there is nothing weird about seeing a therapist of some sort if this issue is bugging you. therapists are here for everybody.

in fact the "crazy" people i know are the ones who claim they never need any help at all.

in a complex society to reach out for help is a sign of intelligence.

:-)

cheers

Uhhh, nope. It's never normal to be paranoid. Maybe you are having anxiety attacks. Maybe you should be looked at by a professional.
