Here's my problem: This year (Junior year) my homecoming is supposed to be the best homecoming I've been to and I want to look great. I have got the perfect dress and now I need the perfect hair. My hair is mid-back length and curly. They're all kinds of curls, big and small. I want that big loose curl almost tight wave look for my hair but don't know how to do it properly. Can anyone tell me how to get those curls without my curls taking over like they do when my hair is straightened? Thanx in advance to anyone who answers me and/or takes the time to read my question. :)

go to Sally's beauty supply and get the biggest curlers you can find. Also if your like me you have tons of split ends so use something with moisture to wash your hair with. Also use a spray leave in conditioner. After washing your hair put the curlers in and blow dry your hair until it feels sorta dry, you know half way. Leave the curlers in your hair until it completely dries then take them out, this will give you loose curly waves. If you want tighter get a smaller sized curler and do the same, the smaller the curlers the more hold you will need, don't use hairspray use a spray gel or even some moose. If your hair is curly already, about the size you are looking for, try using the moisture shampoo and conditioner with the leave in conditioner and then while your hair is still wet just put some mousse, like the size of a silver dollar and just run it through, shake your hair out and leave, it will turn into spirals as it dries unless you have really tight curl es. You may want to try different things several days before your dance.

If you've already got curls, straighten the hair first, then use BIG velcro rollers and some holding spray, gently tease the curls out with your fingers.
(You do know you'll look fantastic for your grand entrance and your homecoming photo, but by the time you've danced like a crazy thang!!! it will fall out, but you won't care cos you'll be having such a good time!!!)

Spray a wet hairspray (this is the type that is in a pump bottle not can) on the strand of hair before placing in the curling tongs. This will both set the curl and give it a smooth look!

get some Velcro rollers the bigger the better. when your hair is wet apply some gel to your hair then wrap like 1" sections over entire head spray lightly with some hairspray. let them stay in over night or for a more speedy effect use the hairdryer. when dry run your fingers through them lightly then spray again lightly. if you want more defined curls in certain areas try a 2" barrel curling iron in some spots.good luck have fun and stay safe!

there is nothing harder than trying to understand what a woman is trying to ask for when it comes to their hair. Have you looked in magazines? Find different types of curls, ones you want to achieve and one you DONT want to achieve. Than try to go to a professional and see what suggestions they would recommend. It is very hard on here sometimes to give a suggestion. We can not see what kind of hair you have. Thickness, Degree of natural wave, and texture. The professional should be able to trouble shoot great ideas of how best to have your hair achieve the CURL you want! Good Luck!

if you don't have hot rollers, all you need to do is use aluminum foil. To do so; take about a 1" wide and about 6" long piece of aluminum foil and twist it so it looks like a stick. Then all you have to do is roll your hair on it and twist both ends of the foil together. Leave on overnight or at least 2 hours. Make sure you put hair spray on your hair while the foil is in place.

try big curling rods on your hair or do it like me (a fellow really curly hair lady) straighten your hair with a flat iron and then use an large curling iron to curl the bottom portion of your hair (less frizz)
