Noah made Captain Jack Sparrow look like a wimp. First he builds this gigantic super freighter out of wood (even today’s best nautical engineers couldn’t dream of accomplishing that feat). He sequesters two animals of all the species of the world (even from continents that hadn’t been discovered yet). Provided enough provision for a long sea voyage (still don’t know how he kept the carnivores fed). Noah was quite a character, but nevertheless, my favorite mythical hero is still Santa Claus.

re: Bula'ia Aratyme's answer--Noah took extra animals for offerings once the flood waters receeded. Read the Bible and you'll see that animal sacrifice was a normal thing, and burning was how it was done, and Noah didn't burn all the animals.

And no, Noah was not the first pirate. You can't be a pirate without there being other ships to steal stuff off of. The ark was the only ship out there. Good try but no.

Honey, Noah didn't have time to play pirate, even if there had been other boats around. He was busy with those animals scooping food in one end and cleaning up the mess from the other end. And he didn't even have a good shovel or a hose to wash down the decks.

Noah didn't build a boat, he built a box, which is what the word ark means. It didn't have to sail, only float. A box floats without a lot of rocking, a boat would have required tons of rock for ballast, and since they didn't have ocean back than, they didn't build boats.

Noah was not a pirate nor the progenitor of pirates. The story has nothing to do with piracy. Since his was the only vessel on the high seas, who did he get to plunder and rob of their booty? If he did that he would be a pirate. Since he did not and what he had on his ark was to continue the species, he was not a pirate. The story is a demonstration of what we have come to understand in the future, which is we participate with God in our salvation.
May the Lord bless and keep you. May He let the light of His face shine upon you.
God's and your beast of burden

i think technically, in order to be considered a pirate one must have the intention of plunder, stealing and raping, or ok maybe not raping but definitely plundering

since noah had no such intention, and because there was no person around to actually plunder FROM, no

Damn his bloody eyes! Yes he was! And what did he take for booty? Animals! He was a sly old dog wasn't he? Plenty of meat to go around.

I don't know man, but a bad one at that. He burned all the animals after they just survived the flood!
