Yes idolizing. YOu'r not supposed to pray to the statue or painting. Ur not supposed to paint a mental picture of what the prophets or God might look like. I guess it might also lead to ppl disagreeing with eachother's ideas and maybe even issues of race and stuff. My understanding of this is that pictures are a material thing and religion is of the soul, so just leave the material eye candy out of it.
Also, you don't pray during sunset or sunrise, but just before or just after, because you don't want to end up praying to the sun, it needs to always be clear you are fully focused on praying to God alone.

Statues and images shouldn't be put in mosques to avoid distorting the attention of the prayers in the first place...plus making statues for humans and animals is banned in Islam but images and oictures are not.

there is no certain source explaining why. but i know from a Hadith that Angels do not enter a house that has a dog, or pictures of humans or animals.

so every time you enter a mosque, the only thing you will see are words from God only. no pictures or idols.

Because Allah cannot be depicted, to picture Allah would be to limit and make Him imperfect, much i nthe same way God can;t really be portrayed
