well the only way to keep the smell out is to quit smoking, but the best way i have found is to wash it then condition then get you some of the hot oil treatment ( they really only take like 5 minutes ans it's worth it) they are like 4 bucks at walmart. then rinse your hair and dont blow dry .

Spray your favorite perfume on to a hand towel and wrap it around your hair,leave it for fifteen minutes,when you remove the towel the smell of smoke will have gone and be replaced with a faint smell of your perfume.

Wash it. Shampoo and condition with a good brand and the smell will be gone. Simple!

fabric softener sheets are the best quick fix without having to wash your hair, just rub one on your hair and it gets rid of it
