Because I have a bothersome cold, and tomorrow is my 13th birthday, so I want to get better fast. But I don't like drinking water. And anyway, Nesquik powder mixed with milk to make chocolate milk is good for you and high in calcium, so does that count? If not, what does besides water?

Hot beverages... does hot chocolate count?

Milk counts as a liquid, but it can actually make you produce more phlegm, which you don't want when you have a cold. (You know that "thick"feeling you get sometimes in the back of your throat-- milk can make that worse).

Orange juice is great when you have a cold, because of the vitamin C. Other juices, like apple, grape and cranberry are good as well.

I sometimes crave ginger ale when I'm sick, so that might taste good to you.

Hot beverages are also good for a cold-- try hot tea with lemon and honey, or maybe even some hot apple cider with cinnamon!

Hope you feel better! Get lots of rest too!

Happy birthday!

Well I guess technically it is a fluid, but in your case it means like clear fluids (water). Good news though cool aid, tea are made with water so they count and chicken soup too would be a good thing to try. Good luck on getting rid of your cold and have a really Happy Birthday!
