YES! It will be easier for him to quit now than it will be 10 years from now! Plus it will stunt his growth. He might be mad now but he would thank you for it down the road!

Definetely. If he continues smoking now, he has a WAY higher chance of getting addicted to other drugs such as cocaine, meth and marijuana. Please, don't be scared he'll be mad that you told. He needs to go to a rehab or something. You can tell your parents, your school counselor, or someone you trust- even his parents. Someday he will thank you for perhaps saving his life. After all, 11 is a very young age to go off track like that. Congratulations for having the guts to step it up and say this here, and I hope you can help him before it's too late. Good luck!

First I would ask my friend why he is smoking? Tell him how bad it is for him/her, and you don't think it is cool to smoke. Where do they get the money to smoke at 11? That means they are taking them from someone?

I would talk to one of your parents about smoking in general and see what they say about it. If you feel comfortable tell your parents.

It is illegal for kids to smoke under the age of 18. Your friend could get in trouble with the law.

Yes, you should tell HIM about all the horrible things he is doing to his body, and point him to some web sites like www.truth.com.

People have to want to change bad behavior themselves. I don't think that telling his family or school will change his behavior, but will only drive it underground.

yes... if you don't want to be the one that "told on" him then tell your parents to tell his parents that they saw him smoking.

as you know, this is very very important that he gets help soon.

you're a good friend for wanting to help.
