I suggest you to choose the train. the journey takes about 4h 40min, and costs about 45euro per head in second class (it doesn't worth to pay more to stay in first, because the Eurostar trains are also confortable in second). Both the stations are in a strategical and accessible position.

Buon viaggio!!!!!!!

i know there is a night train leaving from Ve to Paris. the journey lasts more than 12h. [take a look at www.trenitalia.com for all the informations, sometimes there are discounts in tickets for international journeys]. i haven't never taken that train, so i'm not able to advice you. Take into account the airplane. From Venice and Treviso (where operates Ryanair) there are daily flights to Paris (1h).

On two occasions I've gone from Venice to Rome and both times I took the train. You can do the same thing backwards from the Termini train station in Rome directly to Venice. It's a very comfortable 5 hour ride. The trains are very nice ... and comfortable. Once in Venice you'll come out of the train station and find yourself right on the Grand Canal. From there you can get on a boat taxi (... kind of like a ferry/bus) and go anywhere you need to...

Get a train from Termini Station.
Its the main station in Rome and goes to all major cities.

It's a train journey of just under 5 hours..so bring plenty of reading materials

We took the train. Train Travel in Europe is enjoyable. We alway go second class as the folks are more interesting than business folks in first class. The trian terminal in Rome is an amazing place.

Have Fun

The train. Take the Eurostar. One warning - it can be slow and face unexpected delays. Plan to have most of your day taken up by the train trip.
