I think non-religious people would be more likely to claim that life on other planets doesn't exist. They would have to otherwise their whole worldview would fail. The existence of aliens would ruin the pure chance theory of the orgin of life. If life existed everywhere in the universe it would virtually have to be created life. The odds that life can exist on earth by random chance are so overwhelming it's borderline unbeleivable already. So imagine what that would mean if there was life elsewhere!
Christianity has no problem with extra terrestrial life.
I think it would be the most hilarious thing if aliens popped the hatch of their ship and wander why humans aren't smart enough to realize we live in a God-created universe.

I do not reject life on other planets. In fact, I find it highly possible. There is so much we do not know and so much we may never know that it just boggles the mind. Years ago we thought there were 9 planets, now we find one of the original 9 by definition isn't one and that we may have many more still undiscovered. Think what we will know years from now.

I do not reject life on other planets. God created life on earth. Who's to say He didn't on the other planets??
My thing is this. I struggle enough trying to get along and deal with life on this planet without trying to figure out if there is intelligent life on other planets.

I don't know about "religions" but Christians already believe in God. Most don't need science fiction to release a spirituality suppressed by the dictates of a reductionistic world view like atheism.
