There are no set miles as to when you should rebuild your engine or trans. I have worked for Toyota since 1972 I am a Master Tech for a bay area Toyota Dealership. IT all depends on how well you have maintained your vehicle,i have over 300K miles on my 94 Toyota pickup and its still going strong!

When you are leaking from every seal that can hold back oil, then it is a good indicator that your engine is on the way out and either it is time to rebuild it (around $2500) or get get rid of it.
