Big NO - Cardio is designed to help you lose fat if done properly.
Your body looks at your glycogen level to power your cardio session, once you are partially depleted in glycogen level, thats when you body dip into your fats to fuel your cardio session. You dont want to go for a long session, long session can result to muscle loss, as your body tends to dig deep into your muscle for energy instead of your fats. A 30-45 min cardio is enough for a day.

You can do an hour of cardio every day, but you shouldn't do more than 30 minutes of cardio at a time. When you do cardio your body burns only glycogen, and once your glycogen stores are burned out (which takes about 30-40 minutes) your body starts burning the tissue that requires the most energy to maintain -- MUSCLE. So working out for too long can actually be counterproductive...

It is perfectly healthy to do an hour of cardio. Even walking or using an eliptical is a good cardio. There is also a stair master, stair climber, and the best machine that burns twice the calories than all of the other machines while you work half as hard is the... TreadClimber!!! My favorite!

I do an hour of cardio every day. It's making a big difference is my fitness level and weight.

Also, a number of aerobics classes last an hour, and they're cardio workouts as well.

It is certainly possible to do an hour every day. If you are not regularly working out now, you may want to work your way up to that amount.

The need to rest muscles does help in certain training regimens, but if you are just trying to loose weight, not necessary. If you are body building, training for competitive running or endurance training, resting is helpful.

yep... but start out kinda slow, it's better to take it easy today and know you can take it up a notch tomorrow than to overdo it today and take 3 days to recover.

if you're just starting out exercising remember to go at a pace that works for you and your body so you don't get burnt out after 2 weeks.

good luck and good for you for choosing a healthier lifestyle
