at present i am undergoing accupuncture treatment. the doctor prefers to change the needles and go in for fresh ones only after use for 15 times. The carton containing the needles says that the needles are to be used only once. is it a business trick for more sales. will any accupuncture doctor clarify?

Accupuncture needles should be thrown away after each use. I would ask this accupuncturist and if they don't give you a straight answer, report it to the state board of health that you are in.

Think of the needles like you would a hypodermic needle. You wanna get a shot from the same needle that just shot someone else? If your body is invaded by a needle, you want it to be STERILE, even if it was only in YOUR body before. Vets don't even use an unsterilized needle in animals - EVER!

Change doctors, fast! The needles should only be used one and then discarded. They could loosed their sharpness and then hurt when puncturing the skin. Also, who else is he using them on?

no needle, acupuncture or hypodermic, should be used more than one time.
If your practitioner uses a needle more than once, switch to a new practitioner.
