I'm looking for a recipe for a peanut butter fudge that I recently had that was just awesome! It held together like a champ and had just a wee bit of "skin" when you bite into it, then was so creamy that it just melted in your mouth. I thought my tongue was gonna run away with it! I bought a piece at a convenience store and they would not only not tell me the recipe, but wouldn't tell me who made it, either. It had no label of any kind so am assuming it is made by someone that works there.

Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds kind of like a truffle

Peanut Butter Truffles

10 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 18-ounce jar chunky peanut butter
4 cups confectioners’ sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 pound (4 4-ounce bars) semisweet chocolate (bars for baking available in the baking section of the grocery store)
1 teaspoon unsalted butter
1 1/2 to 2 cups chopped peanuts (without skins)
waxed paper
cookie sheet
toothpicks
Melt the butter in a small saucepan. Put the melted butter and the peanut butter, confectioners’ sugar, vanilla, and salt into a large bowl. Mix with a wooden spoon. Line a cookie sheet with waxed paper. Roll the peanut butter mixture into small balls and place on the waxed paper lined cookie sheet. Freeze for about 20 minutes. Break or chop the chocolate into small chunks with the 1 teaspoon of butter and melt in the top of a double boiler. Mix well and make sure there are no lumps. Turn down the heat to lowest setting. Remove the peanut butter balls from the freezer. Stick a toothpick in each peanut butter ball. Holding the toothpicks, swirl the peanut butter balls in the melted chocolate so that it almost covers the peanut butter balls. You should still see some of the peanut butter at the top. Dip each chocolate covered peanut butter ball into the chopped nuts and place onto the waxed paper lined cookie sheet. Place in refrigerator. Store in refrigerator for about a week or in the freezer for 2 to 3 weeks. Makes about 60 peanut butter truffles.

Chocolate-Peanut Butter Fudge Squares:

3 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1/2 cup butter
3 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (8-ounce) package semisweet chocolate squares
1 teaspoon shortening
Garnish: peanut halves

Combine first 4 ingredients in a saucepan; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves. Cover and cook 3 minutes; uncover and cook, without stirring, until candy thermometer registers 236° (soft ball stage). Remove from heat; add peanut butter and vanilla.

Beat at medium speed with an electric mixer until thickened; pour into a buttered 8-inch square pan. Score into 1-inch squares with a knife; cool. Cut into squares.

Microwave chocolate squares and shortening in a 2-cup glass measuring cup at HIGH 1 1/2 minutes or until melted, stirring twice.

Dip fudge squares into chocolate mixture; place on wax paper. Garnish, if desired; let stand until firm.

Yield: Makes 5 dozen

Jiff peanut butter and marshmellow fluff make the most incredible peanut buttr fudge i have ever eaten. AND I HATE marshmellow you cant even tell its in there it just makes it creamy melt in your mouth delish. SO that could be thier "secret" ingridient.
AND nuke the peanut butter prior to scooping it out of the jar this makes it easier but youll get creamier results too.
