It is very intersting.

Why are the dogs so subordinative (submissive) to the humans? This is not common in the nature, except for us.

What makes them to "serve" us?

Trust -- we become surrogate parents to them. We feed them, bathe them, give them shelter -- all of the things their mother would do for them. Any dog can turn on a human, but they have been domesticated for centuries so most the wild is bred out of your everyday dog.

My dogs know i give them treats toys and most of them I have helped heal something in some way.

I love their animal behavior. There is nothing like grabbing a cold beer on a summer evening and watching them run and tackle each other and how rough they can be without hurting each other. And then turning to watch them how gentle and caring they can be with each other and the neighborhood children.

I think animal behavior comes from the respect their humans give them. It never ceases to amaze me how happy they are to come bounding toward mom. I have one that is just sure mommy always has something for him. If not he brings me something to give him.

Sit Boo Boo sit. Training and breeding make them be subservient to us and do as we tell them to. Surely you have seen dogs that don't listen, obedience school dropouts!

I agree with jaz...it is trust. We are the alphas in their packs because we provide them food, shelter and any thing else they need.

Its "conditioning". They are conditioned to be submissive and trained to serve us.
