In human terms it is probably the definitive redemptive process. An otherwise "purposeless" existence can become productive, even inspired (and inspiring) by love.

Yes, this is the essence of Christianity.

Although I don't like to use this Scripture because everyone overuses it, it does fit this question:

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. (John 3:16)
