I know a lot of people will be dressed down, there will be a speaker. I cannot do laundry tonight so all i have to wear currently is a pair of hip hugger capris, baggy pants that look like pajamas, bell bottom gray hip hugger sweats and a dress which i can wear with a pretty shiny shirt or or black blazer. Does that sound too overdressed. What should I wear?

Think about the people you have met today - friends and strangers. If you discount any dressed as trapeze artists or cavemen, can you remember what any of them wore? Me neither.

Unless you are planning to wear elbow gloves, heels and a tiara, I think a dress should be just fine. People might even be pleased to see that you've made an effort.

doesnt sound like you have much of a choice in the matter. just wear the dress, it will be fine. Besides, when is the last time you actually looked at someone and thought they were overdressed rather than the other way around?

I wear dresses and skirts everyday! That is I am United Pentecostal so I wear them everyday. So I think you would go great wearing a dress. Its great to actually feel like a girl rather than conform right?(most girls conform to the guys and wear pants all the time.

My first thought, as I have had this dilemma before, was dress for God and not for the people at the church.
Say a wee prayer just before you get dressed and tell Him that you are going there for Him.
See what choice you make then.

Depending on the weather you might wear spike heels and a string bikini. Lots of guys would volunteer to save you, I'm sure. The old folks might pass out, though.

Wear whatever you prefer. We are still allowed to dress how we like in this country, for now.

Unless you are planning on wearing a ball gown, you should wear the dress!

Wear whatever you think is appropriate and respectful. Do not worry too much about other people's opinions about such things. God tells us our beauty does not come from outer adornings, but from our inner heart. It's between you and God.

Give 'em a treat--wear the dress.

My dad said women should be 'decorative' meaning that we didn't have to do anything to earn his approval except look nice.

I still miss him!
