id say first try some over the counter sleeping pills...if they don't help you should go to the doctor.....if you drink too much caffeine, cut back.....cut down on carbohydrate foods that are packed with too many sugars such as pasta, breads, sweets, pop.....try taking a nice warm bath before going to sleep, it helps to relax you......get a slumber mask that blocks out every single bit of light, you may think at night its dark enough to sleep, but for some like me, we need a slumber mask to truly block out light (moonlight, street lights). Also you can try playing some nature sounds on a low volume to help relax you or try using aromatherapy (scent: Lavender) it soothes and calms and helps you fall asleep fast. These are alot of options you can try. If NONE of these work, go to the doctor and get prescribed a sleeping pill like time released Lunesta!! good luck!

Go to the doctor and get some Ambien. That crap will knock you flat. If you don't want to try that, Melatonin helps a little. Worst case, some some pot, that will make you sleep for sure.

Get rid of any stress you may have. If you're up to it, go to the gym and run a mile. stretching helps a lot too. Lay off caffeine. Drink lots of water. Eat some carbs. Lay down and close your eyes.

Play soothing music, get fresh air in your room, make sure the room temperature is good, think about the tough work you are too tired to do and maybe you'll fall asleep thinking about it. Maybe get good nutrition or see a doctor.
