Evolution is a theory. Even I, a diehard atheist, will never deny that. However the key thing is that evolution is a SCIENTIFIC theory. This means that it is something that has been tested and proven over and over again. It does not mean, as many Christians would like to think, that it is a hazy idea that somebody randomly hatched one day.
God, on the other hand, is not a theory. There isn't enough proof of his existance for him to be concidered a theory.

The concept of god is not a theory in the sense that evolution is. In the scientific context a theory is a testable, observable concept, such as evolution. God does not fit those criteria. In everyday speech the word theory can also be used to express an impractical idea (it's just a theory). That's where people get confused.

Because it was a theory that has been disproved. The NEA wants the textbooks to remain with the THEORY of evolution intact so that the next generation will be totally ignorant of reality and be more susceptible to manipulation.
The concept of God, on the other hand, has to be accepted by faith. Children have an innocence that NEA wants to exploit, they need robots for the up-coming workforce that is servant to the rest of the world. That is why they keep teaching such an archaic theory.

Less provable to you. Christians have their faith and that is all the proof necessary. A lot of scientists have faith in evolution. Doesn't make either one real to anyone but the believers. Everyone, even scientists, call evolution a theory. But Christians, anyone of any faith, KNOW God is real, in their own hearts and heads. To a lot of people, that's all they need. *shrug* A mystery of religion, that one is.

As an atheist, I also recognize the theory of evolution as being a theory, that is something so far proven, yet not accepted as perfect truth. The idea of god is not a theory, as it has been in no way tested or proven in a refutable way. The idea of god is more of a hypothesis.

Because they are completely convinced that their god and jesus exist. They think that it's 100% fact and therefore it's not a theory to be proved or disproved. Plus it makes them feel better to refer to things that contradict their beliefs as "theories" because it makes them sound less plausible.

Could you please cite a single text on religion or comparative religion that refers to God as a "theory"?
Do you think I would have trouble citing a scientific text that refers to evolutionary theory?

Because then they would be expected to provide empirical evidence of their God, and none exists...
They would no longer be able to simply insist that God is a fact without backing it up with actual facts...
