okay... here's a legit answer from a christian (assuming you wanted one)....
i think people bash christianity because honestly, there is a lot about it that is difficult to accept/believe, especially when one has been raised and educated in a modern society. and because a lot of christians are blockheaded and open themselves up to bashing because of their "holier than thou" attitude.

No, I feel they misunderstand it a bit . and there are so many wacko Christians out there that they have probally encountered what I call a"" JESUS FREAK "" , most normal people after being pummled by a Jesus freak and there seemingly irrational behavior they cant help but be turned off by Christianity, But as for the religon Being attacked I personally dont see it too much , But I certianlly understand why people have a hard time swallowing it. People in any religion can give that religon a bad name by there fanatical actions , so then you hear talk of a religious nature and you become sceptical due to what you have seen from the past experiences of the nut jobs ...... Muslims are getting singled out as most all of them being bad people right now too , But people Persucuting someone elses religion isnt a new thing , so I think it is just an inherent part of socitey to dwell on the negitive aspects of anything ......... good luck

I feel there are many reasons people bash our Christians,
1) many calling themselves christian, have grossly misrepresented christianity, causing pain and sorrow, behaving in a manner that is unChristlike and exalting themselves (for example- this group of people picketing the funerals- this is NOT chrisitanity- but this is what the media is showing and acting like this is a representation of most Christians) I can understand having a huge problem with that and being mistrustful of those who call themselves christian- another thing that falls under this is scriptures constantly being taken out of context by believers and nonbelievers alike- also quoting Shakespeare and telling people it is fron the Bible- no one actually looks it up so the lies get perpetuated and no one knows what the Bible actually says, but they are content to pass on lies that just add to the misunderstanding .
2) rebellion- most people have a problem with authority, they were not raised to respect authority and do not want to submit to authority- we grow up feeling "I can't wait to be an adult so I can do what I want" but there is an ultimate authority, we will have to answer and be accountable to- when one does not want to accept this they tend to have a rebellious and defiant attitude towards those that represent and walk under that authority (for example those that work for the IRS- they are just doing their job, operating under the authority they work for- they did not make the rules, but they are subject to ridicule, rebellious attitudes, and mean spirited insults just because they are doing what they are called to do- not that great an example but the best I can do for now)
3) lack of knowledge- when people don't understand something, why people live a certain way or make the choices they do- often rather than being open minded anfd finding out, getting educated, they react in fear- fear causes people to behave negatively towards those they don't understand or are to shallow or afraid to get to know.
It is one thing to disagree with Christianity but another to bash it, insult christians and what they believe and just be mean spirited. I see so many atheists doing what they accuse Christians of, acting like they are so much better, so much more peaceful and peaceable, so open minded and unslefish but resorting to 5 year old playground namecalling, bashing, insulting does not show any of that- it shows a lack of knowledge, a lack of compassion, a lack of intellect and mean spirited selfishness.
Is it possible to disagree with someone's beliefs and still treat them with respect and kindness?? I mean all atheists don't agree 100% with each other in other areas of life besides religion- do they go around insulting and bashing each other?? Do you really think with attitudes like that , that the end of religion would be the end of all war??? I don't think so
People will always disagree, no matter what it is about- it is what we do with those disagreements and how we treat each other that is going to make a difference - there is just absolutely no excuse or justification for some of the things said said to or about Christians on this site.

I bash the religion, not the believers. And I do so because it basically makes no sense, and because Christians are being manipulated through their honest faith.

Actually, we bash Christians to make people less superstitious. Same with Muslims, Wiccans, Jews, and all the other superstitions.
It would just be a better world if there was less religion. It would even be a better world if religious people kept their superstitions to themselves.

Well I know in the GLBT section they bash us because they recognize that God made us this way but refuse to accept it. So I don't know if their religion is true but I know mine is.

Maybe some. I think Some people are just jerks. Some Christians are idiots representing religion. And more just don't understand. Let them believe what they want and try to ignore it.

I bash them because they have an imaginary concept of life and death...you know kind of like the older sibling laughing at the younger one playing with her imaginary friend.

Some people bash it because they do not believe it. Others bash it to test your faith. Still others bash it because they want to believe but do not have the gumption to get off the rear and decide instead of fence walking.
