Some pro-illegal immigrant activists were mad when the official 'Democratic Agenda' was released, with no mention of immigration. However the newly released "Hispanic Democratic Agenda" calls for BOTH legalization and temporary workers on the one hand AND the Dream Act to give grants and in state tuition to illegals on the other hand.

So tell me, if they plan to legalize all here, who is the Dream Act for? NEW illegals???? Oh, thank you so much for your dedication to solving the problem!

What do you think?

And what do you think about their having two different agendas, to begin with?

"On hand to release the agenda were Sen. Reid, the Senate minority leader; House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.); New York senator and presumptive presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton; California's Rep. Grace Napolitano, chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus; and New Jersey's Sen. Robert Menendez"

Txsup - elaborate please, because what I say IS true - which part do you dispute?

Blankit - it isn't ME who chose to only put this issue into the Hispanic agenda and not the 'general one', if you want to say someone is 'racially profiling', tell that to the Democrats.

Txsup - here is the link for the GENERAL Democratic Agenda, in case that is what you were disputing:

Txsup - there was no mention of immigration even being on the agenda. Then Hispanics protested. Then the Democrats came out with a special 'Hispanic Agenda'. I didn't say some Republicans may not agree with it. I just pointed out that the Democrats were giving two different agendas to two different groups. That seems to worry you.

"And what do you think about their having two different agendas"

Is that bad? Don't you want different treatment for illegals and citizens? That's what the Dems are proposing. Also the "agenda" for illegals is the SAME as that proposed by Bush but rejected by other Republicans.

For people who are citizens, Dems say they will address issues such as the minimum wage, educational opportunities, support for small businesses that sort of thing.

For illegal immigrants here's the quote from your source:
"On immigration ... The agenda calls for a path to legalization for undocumented immigrants already in the country and a temporary worker program."

In fact, the Democrat program is the SAME as what Bush proposed, but which other Republicans did not back.

Stop distorting things and argue fairly, without major lying!

This is a huge dividing issue for voters. I will vote for anyone, regardless of party affiliation, if they are strong against illegals.

This "Dream Act" is such a crock...when my son works two jobs to pay his way through school. He has parents who have paid into the system for decades...and he get's no break.

I am angry every time I hear about illegals getting more handouts or illegals committing crimes. It reinforces my resolve to make this my "issue" until it isn't an issue anymore.

Is there such a thing as a reasonably honest politician? I for one am keeping an eagle eye on C-Span, and scrutinizing web sites for who voted for what ... where the discussions are going, etc., etc. I won't be hoodwinked on this one ... when did this country become the sole property of the administration to sell out? The word "representative" means they were to represent the electorate ... not foreign governments and big corporations ...

That's funny, I guess you feel "pro-illegals" are all latinos. I was expecting to read more illegal info but this is actually about the American Latino community. Hello? I guess you must be jumping the gun in lumping us again.

vote republican, not much of a choice either way, better than throwing our votes away to third party.
