Been in and still am in your shoes. There are times that stress has an unknown reason for being. FIRST, see your family physician and be referred to a psychiatrist to be evaluated. There may even be a very simple answer for it. You can take deep breaths in through the nose out through the mouth, for 10 breaths while saying one word (your choice-calming & relaxing) and repeat it when your breathing in and out. There is a technique called self hypnosis relaxing technique's. There are plenty of tapes "or" CDs out there you can buy. You need to find a quiet place for ten minutes. good luck. But first see your doctor.

Unfortunately the best way to relax and remove stress is illegal and addictive. But all stress is self-induced. Try thinking about the big picture. Just think about the things that are most important too you: your health, your family, friends, etc. If the things you stress about aren't harmful to these things then it's probably something you shouldn't worry about.
It it really bothers you a lot a doctor can prescribe you some anxiety medicine. A family member of mine was that way and she finally asked the doc about it and he prescribed some meds for her....she's nice and relaxed now. I'm not sure about the side effects though.

It is possible that you have generalized anxiety disorder. Most people who have GAD have similar complaints to what you're experiencing. Check out http://familydoctor.org/627.xml for more information.
Another common possibility is that there is a spiritual problem. Sometimes spiritual questions, "What am I supposed to be doing with life? etc." get mistaken for purely psychological stress.
Peace.
