Aspartame is the generic name of Nutrasweet. Some other sweeteners used in diet drinks these days include Splenda and saccharine.

Diet Rite uses Splenda (sucralose) and they have some fun flavors like Tangarine, White Grape and Kiwi-Strawberry that I like a lot. Diet Rite is also 0 calories, 0 carbs, 0 caffeine and 0 sodium.

Diet 7UP also uses Splenda (but oddly, NOT diet cherry 7up).

I won't drink anything with Aspartame (one sip makes me ill). I have no idea why it is so popular.
