The correct term is "secondary virginity" and is has nothing to do with the amount of time since the last sexual encounter.
"Secondary virginity" is when a person who is not a virgin makes a pledge to remain a virgin from this point on until they are in a committed married relationship.

No
But some call it Born Again Virgins.
I feel once you have had sex you are no longer a virgin. Anyone who does want to call themselves a virgin has problems with their decision of having sex. Instead of worrying about their virginity they need to get some self esteem and know they are wonderful for all the choices they have made.
If you are not happy with the choices you have made, Give yourself a pat of the back for making the right ones now. God and everyone else will love you for knowing what is right for you and sticking to it now. You dont have to be a virgin to hold your head up high.

Well according to webster if you are a unmarried girl or woman you could be called a virgin. But I don't think that is what you are asking. I would say no for the simple fact that you are no longer innocent. Your knowledge of sex is greater and you probly wont have the same anxiety you had your first time! Not to mention no one else will be able to be the only one to have had sex with you.

You could CALL yourself a virgin, but it would be a lie by the definition of the word.
A virgin is someone who has NEVER had sexual intercourse; you're asking if protracted abstinence would allow you to qualify, which it would not. If you've had sex even ONE time in your life, regardless of how long ago it was, you are no longer a virgin.

No, once you've had sex you are no longer a virgin. There is a type of surgery called hymen restoration, which re-builds the hymen. I think that once it's gone, it's gone, no matter what you do. That's why you need to think a little more about who you're going to give that too, since it's a one-shot deal.

There's a thing called being a "born-again virgin," not in any physical sense but a spiritual sense.

Virgin is a state of mind. You can call yourself whatever you want, and don't have to explain yourself to anyone, up to and including the court of law. Similar to "divorced." Or "Atheist." What do those words even mean. Formerly married, deny that which cannot be proven. Huh?

I'm a virgin again as soon as I put my clothes back on! So after a year, WOW! Good luck with that!
