Over using can damage your hair. The products add up, and makes your hair dirtier than it startes. If you wash your hair daily (once every two day; it lets the natural oils in your hair come back, that's what keeps your hair strong) you'll be fine. This is how I do my hair, and it works great for me. Just a word to the wise: The Garnier shampoo's and conditioner's are the second best on the market, (the first being Biolage). Don't believe the people who say that those products will make you bald, they won't.

I went to beauty school and learned that NO, styling products are not bad at all for your hair. Actually, products such as gel, mousse, hairsprays, protect your hair. By using the styling products you are adding sort of a shield to protect the hair shaft. Think about when you blow dry your hair how damaging it can be. If you add some product before drying, such as mousse you will see a big difference in your hair. Also, using such products will help you syle your hair and make it look better. Many of these products are bad and the PH balance is bad for your hair. If you buy professional hair products they are not bad for your hair and have the right PH. I don't know if Garneir Fructis styling products but I would buy professional. Try Paul Mitchell or Amplify or something like that. If you don't want to spend the money on professional products find a Salleys Beauty supply store where you can find professional products at a lower price by buying their generic shampoos and conditioners of professional quality.
Also, your boyfriend losing hair from a product is unlikely but possible. Health stores (where you find herbs and stuff) also carry shampoos that are supposed to be great for your hair.

Too much of any product is bad for the hair. Heat alone is the worst! A gentle shampoo and conditioner used sparingly is the best thing for a hair. I'm afraid your boyfriend may be experiencing male pattern baldness. Try Rogain or similar product. There have been many that have had success with it. Good Luck!

Styling products can dry out your hair. They certainly will not make you go bald. Permanent hair loss is either genetic or a serious health issue. Nothing you can do on the outside of your hair can damage the growth. You can burn your hair off with chemicals but normally it grows back in just the same.

Hey!

I think the best hair products are always the ones that say alcohol free. SO tell him look for those. also if he could just put off putting anything in his hair that would be better
