I am here to help those who seek spiritual & Godly advise, as best I can. I try my best not to respond to people just looking to get into an argument.

I stop by here to learn what others are thinking. Although I am an ordained minister, I do not have a congregation, nor do I practice what one could consider traditional religion. My study of other religions is more from a sociological point of view, in an attempt to understand how people's religious beliefs affect how they approach others and how they view the world. That isn't, unfortunately, the reason others are here.
Religion offers many an "ultimate truth," beyond which all else matters little. The feeling of superiority that some feel in insulting other's beliefs may not really be fleeting; there is a certain, juvenile satisfaction in saying, "I'm right, the rest of the world is wrong, you're all dumb as toast, nyah, nyah, nyah!" It all depends on the intelligence and maturity level of the speaker.
Also, I'd say most of those who choose to speak out against other religions don't really understand them at all, or at least not enough to speak intelligently and knowledgably about them; they fall back on generalizations and commonly held misconceptions about religion.
I'd say to simply ignore them; they're simply not worth listening to, and any response other than complete silence only validates their point and adds fuel for more of the same. Since 99.9% of the time it comes out of sheer bigotry and ignorance, Internally, you must forgive them, for they truly know not what they do.

I am here to just provide a Christian viewpoint to questions that have at least some merit. I do this not necessarily for the questioner. Most times they are atheists that either pose questions to incite or to plead their case and do not care for the Christian viewpoint. I, instead, word my answers to hopefully point anyone that is searching this database later towards the Christian perspective with supporting websites as appropriate.

I come because once in a while there's an interesting question or a question I'm qualified to answer.
Religion is an interesting topic of research, even if you're a nonbeliever. I don't believe in the greek gods but I still study them, I don't believe in YHVH or Jesus or Muhummad, but it's still good to expand one's mind and understand about the things others believe.
And if I get to have some mudslinging fun while I'm at it, huzzah!

I am here to try to shed the light of Christ and spread the Good News. But like Jesus i cannot abide heresy or evil doing in the name of God
I am by no means Jesus but I am trying the best I can to be like Him.
I do choose to abstain from many questions that don't concern me or that I feel I may not give a good answer. Sometimes I just joke or kid to try to lighten things up.

I'm here to amuse myself.
I'm retired and have lots of free time, so I sit here and do this while my other computers are doing other stuff.
And, I know quite a lot about the bible and history, so it seems the best place to hang out. Based on the answers I've seen given, I'm well qualified to answer questions compared to most who frequent this section.
Especially self proclaimed Christians. They seem to be the most ignorant of their own doctrine of all.

To try to get an understanding of how people can be so gullible and yet feel they are the ones who have the only "truths".....
It fascinates me, really....
And lets face it - getting angry ranting emails from fundie Christians that do nothing other than judge me against thier Saviors commandments really is a blast....especially when I write back and point it out to them that I will save a cosy place by the eternal hellfire for them....

I come here to ask and answer questions. If getting uder the skin of Christians by telling the truth is a side effect of those questions and answers then I know I am doing somthing right

First a person has to look within him or herself and ask what type of person am I? Why am I so angry? Am I angry with only myself?
Right here at this point you're soul searching yourself within.
If you have fought against thy sister /brother pray about whatever you're angry about or who are angry at, ask for gorgiveness, then there, fore your life would better for you.
The spiritual aspect will soon super cede you. [a clear and peaceful mind]

I'm hoping more people will want to learn the history of their religion in addition to their "faith."
