Many like myself already do. Plenty of fundamentalists are desperate to prove that every single word of the Bible must be taken literally. Christians who are allowed to think for themselves realize that the Bible is a SPIRITUAL manual, not a SCIENCE manual. One of the most famous and brilliant physists of all time not only believes in Creation, but also the Big Bang, end hence: evolution. His is a davout Catholic named Steven Hawking. Perhaps you've read about him?

Peace

Accept the theory of Evolution or that evolution is occuring?

As a christian I believe that we as humans are constantly evolving. Why else are African's darker skinned and nordic peoples noses longer and wider. Because over generations genetics mutated such that each person has adapted to their environment. That's evolution active today.

Evolution is not anti-christian; Catholic scientists were the first to research evolution. You don't have to be Christian not to accept evolution. Believing, or not believing evolution has nothing to do with Christianity.

Did it ever occur to you that not all Christians reject evolution, and those that do each have different reasons for rejecting it?

When will people stop discriminatorily painting all Christians with the same brush?

some christians do. Pope John Paul II was open to the idea with some restrictions. it is called "Theistic Evolution"

but i find it odd that whenever you tell some christians the pope's views on it they deny it at all cost. which is confusing to me and pretty naive IMO. at least say something like "i know he said that but i do not fully agree" or something..

its just that many christians do not know what evolution really teaches. at my moms church they tell her "evolution teaches man came from monkeys" which is not true at all, but she believes everything they tell her.

you know i find nothing wrong with christians, but i just wish i could have a nice open discussion with them without them being like NO I WILL NOT LISTEN LA LALALALALA!! why? i would listen to your side of it, why not hear mine?

The serious ones, never... the idea of evolution invalidates a major part of what makes up their world view.

Darwin did not believe in evolution - do your research - read his writings and interviews later in life - he said after looking at it for all those years - he just didn't see how it would work?

Also, why did evolution stop?

People who believe in God, believe God

Also, start researching the new scientific ideas on creation, non Christian scientists have come to believe in creation through scientific fact

So get out of the dark ages of science

read some modern stuff and do your research
