Not any more. Driver licence photos are starting to conform to international standards, just like passport photos, and smiles are not allowed. Headwear is not allowed, unless it is a religious symbol, like a turban worn all the time, and eyeglasses must be removed.

IF YOU LOOK UNDER THE " GUYS RULE BOOK " IT STATES THAT YOU SHOULD NEVER (AND THE WORD "NEVER IS UNDERLINED ) SMILE FOR YOUR DRIVER'S LICENCE. BUT IT OK TO SMILE FOR OTHER PHOTOS.
