There's a lot of murder over there too, but that isn't news, now is it?

The "ordinary" murders in Muslim countries, which probably occur at about the same rate as in the U.S., don't get covered in the U.S. media any more than the "ordinary" murders that happen here.

But if a blond-haired, blue-eyed Christian from Detroit walks into a local grocery store with a bomb, and blows it and all the shoppers to kingdom come, it'll make the news. If a school kid starts sniping at his classmates with a high-powered rifle, that'll make the news too.

Remember the Oklahoma City federal office building? Remember Columbine?

That's the kind of murders the U.S. is covering in Muslim countries: suicide bombings, death squads that dump a dozen bodies in a vacant lot in Baghdad.

Prior to 9/11/01 I don't remember a single article on Muslims. Extreme Islam has declared war on the United States. Enemies of a country get a lot of bad press.

I think you might have a slightly paranoid view of the news.

Everything is not against Muslims. But we in the "west" always percieve those who kill innocent people, just minding thier own business without declartaion of war, as barbaric and cowardly. We are very appalled at the attitudes that we are hearing in some places. We cannott understand people who riot in the streets and threaten people over words. Yes it happens here but we are talking about peaceful protests or a few wierdos,

Not outright vicious hatred by thousands of people.

That's not true. The media in the west are very Good and showing all sides. Generally, our local media are sympathetic to Muslims.
There is a Muslim TV station on the web that only shows bad things about the US...didn't you know?

I think the article below answers your question very well. There is a bias reporting taking place in U.S News Networks many of which are controlled by a selected few (who of course do not like Muslims).

They don't! What is so aggravating to me is that our media seems to do everything possible to protect our enemy and make them look like the poor peole who are going through so much. What about our soldiers who are being killed by roadside bombers everyday. The Muslims should stand up and fight like real men...face to face instead of fighting as dirty as they can.Look on the internet and you will find many stories that aren't being told.

Hate sells.

They may also have some world-dominion agenda. The conspiracy theorists say the media is involved in the world-domination scheme of some groups. I'm not convinced, but I can't rule it out either.
