My parents always served us the same food they ate. You may just want to cut the meat into smaller pieces but try a variety of things and a well balanced meal. That doesnt mean it has to take a lot of time. Here's something I make that's different and would be easy for a child to chew and yet it's easy and quick to make. Try baked talapia. I use nature seasoning you can find at the grocery store, it's made by Morton. You dont even have to thaw the fish first, it will bake just fine from being frozen. i drizzel a small amount of olive oil in a baking dish (usually pyrex but that's me) and sprinkle one side with nature seasoning. Bake at 400 degrees F until the fish is completely thawed but not quite finished, flip it and season the other side. It is done when it flakes easily with a fork. When you flip the fish pop some frozen green beans in the microwave with about 2 tablespoons of water for 6 minutes. Season with nature seasoning and butter. You can also make instant mashed potatoes to go with this as well, but I prefer the real ones. If you peel the potatoes first and get them boiling, then put the fish in the oven, then do the green beans, it will all be done about the same time. Try the same thing with thawed boneless chicken breasts.

Here's a simple change from ordinary hamburgers!

Take ground beef, mix in seasonings you want, some chopped onions and shredded cheese. Make patties, very, very thin and about 1/2 inch bigger than bun. Place patty on 1/2 of bun and broil until done. Watch though, because if patties are too thick, bun will burn before meats done. Serve up with some chips or M&C and fries. Quick and easy

Then put 2 cans of black eyed peas in a bowl in the mircowave for 2 mins and stir. after making sure the chicken is cooked well and the bell peppers are grilled, 10 mins or so your done!! So simple yummy Chicken and bell peppers with black eyed peas yummy!!

Never try to cook in the evening... that's my rule of thumb :)

Get a crockpot and load it in the morning before you go to work. Use your imagination and put in chicken or beef chunks... potatoes, carrots, whatever vegetables your family likes. You don't have to use much liquid in a crockpot, but you can throw in a little beef or chicken broth if you really want to. Just season with salt, pepper, and herbs OR use a package of Lipton Onion or Golden Herb soup mix. Clap the lid on, dinner's ready when you get home.

Find some recipes and put meat and veggies and sauce stuff in so all you have to do when you get home is cook rice or pasta. The possibilities are endless. I live by the crockpot because I have a large family with differing schedules and an autistic son. From the time he gets home until he goes to bed, I'm one on one with him so I don't have time to cook at dinner time.

I've done boneless skinless chicken with frozen chopped spinach and cream of mushroom soup and served it over rice...

Beef chunks and carrots, cream of mushroom soup, onion soup mix, can of diced tomatoes, little Worchestershire, serve that over noodles....

You get the idea :)

When you're short on time in the a.m., use bags of frozen veggies (whatever your family likes, remember soup and stew veggies too!) After they've cooked all day, they taste like you cut them up right out of the garden. Good luck and enjoy your son every moment you can because my oldest is 23 now and I still remember trying to cook with him on one hip! :)

spaghetti, broccoli, and chicken. Easy, cheap, and my 2 year old loves it all, and we eat it too. I always keep a cooked sweet potato in the fridge also. My daughter loves that, and it's an easy re-heat. Always try to cook for 2 days at a time with a baby in the house. Saves time and money.

without knowing what you have on hand and what he likes this is tough but here are a few ideas:

- spagetti using canned sauce that you simply doctor a bit to personal tastes
- a salad with some pieces of lunch meat and cheese and dressing of choice
- tomato soup and grilled cheese (always a favorite with my kids)
- good hotdogs and fresh buns (maybe a side of cole slaw or potato salad)
- tuna rice casserole
