Tony jaa is the real deal. He trains 8 hours a day he is trained in the bowstaff,Taekwondo,Muay Thai, and Kung fu. He was the stunt man for Robin Sho (Lu Kung) on Mortal Kombat. He is a great Martial Artist and trained very hard to reach where he is today. And By the way He dose ALL of his own stunts in his flims, NONE of it is fake. He is pretty good but none of its impossible I myself can perform many of the things he do.

No idea, his skills regardless are impressive and have merit.

I mean the guy is quick and agile, not sure about his power. But the style he utilizes Muay Boran is pretty damn effective and brutal. I imagine he would tear the average joe a new butthole.

As far as against a real martial artist? I don't know, probably depends on the style. I would put him up against a TKD, Karate, or Kung Fu guy and would expect him to clean them up. I see him winning after landing some solid Thai Leg kicks and knees.

He can break boards and stuff with the best of them, and his defense and blocking are solid. I mean it is nice to see someone using a style that isn't just for show. I'm fairly certain it would hurt to take a flying knee from him.

He is an actor, sure he is just hype. can he fight? i don't doubt it, are there those who are better than him? that I am positive of.

look actors like tony are first concerned with the look of the fight, then they concern them selves with the reality. chances are a real fight wouldn't bring in nearly as many people into the theater, and that is the goal of Tony Jaa. not whether or not he can stand up against anyone. you want a real fighter go down to the seediest bar in town, and look for the old man everyone there respects (they don't talk t him they just respect him). that there is a fighter true and true.

Having seen a slew of martial arts films in my lifetime and being a student myself, I can tell that Tony Jaa is totally on the level. There are a lot of things he does on camera that you probably wouldn't find in Muay Thai or Muay Boran, but they serve to show how athletic and agile he is. Some of his techniques are absolutely brutal and would do major damage in real life.

From what I heard, he actually does spend some time in Muay Thai camp which is no joke. I believe he can tear most average mr joe apart. If he does, it won't look anything like as on screen though. Against another Muay Thai fighter with average record, I wouldn't bet on him.

He is a real martial artist, but his movies are choergraphed. But either way you got to admit his movies are pretty insane (in a good way).
