I recently moved to a different state with my fiance. I have no family here and haven't really made any good friends yet. My fiance is a police officer at our local police department. My fiance hit me last week, it was the first time it had ever happened. It has since happened three more times. I am very scared and I don't know what to do. I don't feel like I can go to the police because is he is one and they all really like him so I don't think they will believe me. I also don't have enough money yet to leave the state. I am also afraid to call my family and tell them what is happening. I am afraid that my brothers will kill him in their anger and that they will get in trouble. Someone please tell me what to do or where I should go for help. I have to get away from him and leave here I just don't know how to do it...

Thank you all so much for your help... I cannot decide which answer is the best. I called home and my family gave me the money to get out and return home. I will be leaving today and heading back to where I feel safe and protected. Thank you all for your help and support!!!

I am tryuly very sorry about your situation and i hope you get out of there fast. I agree with alot of the other answers call your family first and foremost. They can help you get away and help protect you .
Is your fiance a county, or city cop? Well if he is maybe call the state police or call the district attorny. I know that sounds scary however state police in Indiana takes things like that very seriously ( thats were i am from). That is regardless if the guy is a cop or not because it still dosnt give him the right to hit you..so try it and good luck
My prayers are with you
Also here is a webpage you should look at: http://www.ndvh.org/

My dear, I am no expert, but obviously you need to leave right away. You will eventually have to tell your family. You cannot stay with him to protect your brothers. You could ask your family for financial help, but you could also go to a shelter. Look up your local Domestic Violence Dept. They have support and can give you the best advice. But really, in your heart, you know what you have to do. And don't put it off. Get out at any cost. Your brothers are responsible for their own actions, not you. And praying might be a good start. God Bless.

Look up any womans shelter is your area.
Go to a local school and talk to someone there and ask them where you can go.
Call the police in the nearest town and explain your situation.
But whatever you do. Get out of that house today!!! before he gets home!!!
NO ONE should EVER put up with someone hitting them - not once, not twice.. not ever!!
Once you are out of the house and safe.. call your family and have them come and get you.

Listen get a ticket (plane ,bus ,train, etc) go back home and just tell everyone it didn't work out and start over .It won't get better and he is a cop and will always get away with it.I'm a man and I would never condone that especially when it is a policeman who is suppose to up hld the law not take advantage of it.

Is there a center for battered women or domestic violance where you live? If there is you should go there and they will help you. Oh my I'm so sorry. That is so horrible and my heart goes out to you. I hope you find help and that you can leave this situation.

I really think you should call your family and tell them to send you a plane ticket and tell them it is an emergency and then when you get home tell authorites what happened. Tell your family!
You definatley need to leave him!
