If they are old, then need to be cleaned first and that is best done by a professional photoprocessing company. And while they are at it, have them print you permanent pictures on real photographic paper. Many of the ink jet printers don't have archival ink.

Then if you want to scan them into your computer, do it. The flat bed copiers that they are talking about, to get a good one will cost you from about $250 up.

Scan those slides and print the digital files.

This can be made by yourself with a flatbed scanner (Epson, Microtek) with has an adaptor wich emits light to scan negative film and slides.

You can scan them yourself or take them to a good lab (Ritz is o.k. but avoid Walmart and the like).

The cost is pretty high, but worth it if you have some slides that you like.
