How long ago? If this has been going for more than just a couple of days, call the dentist. You might have what's commonly called a dry socket, and can be very painful.

are you sure that the tooth in front of it is not infected? Sometimes, when a tooth has a deep cavity, it will be bothered if cold air, water and other temperature sensitive things touch it. So i hate to say this but check the tooth in front of the one you had extracted and make sure it is not bothering you.

Yes, as it is a molar. There will be a hole there for some time. You must make sure you keep food out of it by swilling your mouth round with some warm water and some salt to aid the healing.

of course its painful you had a tooth out and the cold air is hitting the enamel on the tooth next to the one extracted because it has been exposed..this will get better

If air bothers it, I would suspect a dry socket... Especially if you have a foul taste in your mouth.
