It tastes like horse piss. Drink a wine cooler or Mike's hard instead.

The taste varies depending on the brand and the ingredients. Most popular American beer tastes somewhat watery with a hint of hops. . As for taste some beers can be a little bitter, while others are sweet, some bland, some flavorful and fruity or spicy too.

Many popular beers today have very little flavor, so it's difficult to describe their taste, this is done to appeal to a wide consumer group. However most small breweries tend to make higher quality and better tasting beers that are difficult to replicate in huge factories. You should experiment with different beers, you might like what you find. Cheers.

Although I am an "avid" beer consumer (alcoholic to a certain degree), I still find the taste of beer to be less than tasty...

First off, I drink to calm myself due to my unbelievably loud neighbours (Mr. EathQuake & his Construction Crew). In that sense, I am an alcoholic, because it is only after a few drinks that I enter the "I don't give a f*ck" state of mind which makes life in that awful apartment almost bearable.

I don't drink wine, nor do I enjoy hard liquor on a regular basis, so beer is the drink I am most familiar with.

Most beer have a similar taste, although subtle varieties appear between brews. Light (blonde) beers seem more bitter than the darker (red) blends, who seem more "thick" and "heavy".

Some of the least repulsive beers I have tasted are MOOSEHEAD, KOKANEE, ALEXANDER KEITH'S. Some of the worst were Molson Ex, Budweiser, Coors, Belle Gueule, and Boreale.

Presently my beer of choice is Black Label 10% alcohol in a 1.18 liter format. It tastes really strong but gets the job done twice as fast!

Cheers

your question is too vague and everyone has different tastes. There are litterally thousands of beers around the world. Even those crappy "wine coolers" or other flavored beverages such as smirnoff triple black or mike's hard whatever are beer based.
Bottom line, taste it, if you don't like it move on.

beer is a taste of its own. Beer just tastes like beer. i'll admit it is an aquired taste. people that say it tastes like piss are inaccurate as they have likely never tasted piss. Its the color of it along with the bubbles that give it that type of generalization.

The first ten beers you drink in your life time are often revolting.

After that, you begin to notice how a Lager has a nice crisp bite to it - unlike any soft drink. It has a strange way of quenching your thirst at the same time as making you want to drink more.
