No question about it. A JVC 20GB HDD you get about 4 1/2 hrs record time plus the software to dock to your computer it's simple to use and also has capabilty of snapshots it uploads to your PC in seconds. go a BestBuy store or their website or check on ebay you should be able to get it for $5-600.00.

Anything hard drive no tapes to buy or dvds and easy to transfer.

Get one with hard drive.
They are little bit more expensive, but ... you will love it.
