Having lived on the largest US Military base in Japan for three years, I can tell you with utmost sincereity..
They WANT us there!. First off, the US military is the largest employer on the Kanto Plain(outside of private corporations in Tokyo). we pour hunderds of millions of Yen into the economy each year, both as tourists and as part of the Status of Forces Agreement.
Their self imposed restrictions on their own military necessitates our being there as a deterrent to North Korean agression(and to a lessor extent, Chinese)
The US and Japan share a mutually beneficial friendly arrangement. we need each other and we each benefit from our continued status as friends and allies.

Speaking as a Japanese-born and raised American (and thus acquainted with both sides of the equation), you are an idiot. Let me reiterate: YOU ARE A COMPLETE IDIOT.
(1) The largest American overseas military installations are still in Germany.
(2) Japan and the United States have a Security Pact, where the United States assumes the burden of defending Japan in exchange for Japan's adoption and maintenance of a pacifist Constitution (re: Article 9).
(3) Japan is a sovereign nation with full representation in the United Nations and a member of the G7 group of nations.
(4) The United States has offered on numerous occasions to draw down their forces, and these installation closures and removal of units have been negotiated in good faith. To date, there are no ground combat units of the Army stationed in Japan proper, these having been removed (1st SFG(A)'s 1st BN in Okinawa an exception).
(5) Japan is not a terrorist nation. Japan does not have a military capable of sustained offensive operations, nor does it have active intelligence agencies that specialize in covert action.
(6) The North Korea problem has been present since the 50s. Japanese citizens have been kidnapped since the 60s by North Korean security services. A state of de facto war exists between Japan and North Korea. This is not "very new". It is only your incomplete worldview being slapped awake by reporting on the major news services within the past couple of years that makes it "very new" for the likes of you.
You are a complete and total idiot who does insult to both the United States and the peaceful people of Japan. If you lack intelligence, have the decency to stay quiet.

First, Japanese sovereignty was fully restored decades ago. The presence of a base on Japanese territory was negotiated and re-negotiated with the Japanese government and is no more a diminishment of Japanese sovereignty than Japan's ownership of an embassy and other structures on US soil is a diminishment of American sovereignty. You have distorted the facts.
Second, Japan has recently indicated that they do not wish the American bases to be completely withdrawn, particularly given the increasing threat posed by North Korea and Communist China.
Third, there is some growing support in the US for a complete withdrawal from both Japan and North Korea, which would leave Japan pretty exposed to China and North Korea, in part reacting to the foolish ingratitude of those (like yourself apparently) who forget that Japan is only democratic and permissive of free speech like yours because the US beat Japan and forced it to abandon its silly "god-emperor" nonsense and that Japan is presently threatened by unfriendly powers on the Asian mainland.
Fourth, Japan is not a terrorist nation, although terrorists certainly exist there (e.g., Aum Shin Rykyo). Japanese leaders may honor war criminals in an unseemly way, but they do not intentionally harbor terrorists, which is the relevant distinction.
How many North Korean missiles would have to fly over Japan before fools like you come to appreciate the American alliance?

U.S. largest Military Base is in Japan since 1945, when will U.S., leave Japan?
-->Nope, never, nada. Not happening. China is too much of a powerhouse to let them have control of the entire eastern hemisphere. US isn't leaving and strategically Japan wouldn't want us to anyway.
The largest Foreign Military Base of U.S., is in Japan since 1945.
--> incorrect, the largest contingent of americans overseas is ramstein AFB in germany.
Whether sovereignty of Japan will be ever restored?
--> Japan has sovereignity over its own government, it merely is restricted on its military power projection. That actually helps the Japanese economy, however, since they don't have to invest in more than a defensive force.
Why U.S., do not want to leave Japan?
--> Valuable real-estate. If all hell breaks out in india, pakistan, china, north korea, etc... then it will be better to have forward operating locations from which to employ force rather than having to relocate from half way around the world.
Is Japan a Terrorist - Nation?
--> Doesn't need to be a terrorist nation in order to be occupied. Like i said, it's valuable real-estate.

Doesn't Japan pay for much of the cost of having troops here? Recently when a base was relocated the Japanese people ended up paying for a lot of the costs. I think the Amewricans initially wanted the Japanese to pay 80% of the costs.
Have the Japanese actually ever asked the Americans to leave? I don't think so. There are protests and stuff regualarly but I don't think the government of Japan has ever actually asked America to leave.

Gee, and here I thought you were all concerned about Israel's welfare, now I find out you are worried about Japan.
Are you aware of the fact that the worlds second largest medical evacuation center is located at Kadina AFB Japan (second only to Ramstein). Ask some of those Muslim tsunami victims or Pakistan earth quake victims if they want them to leave.

Most of the US bases have been closed and turned back over. IF the Japanese Government wants the US out, they will ask us to leave, AND WE WILL. The US is not an occupier, just there for support, through MUTUAL agreement.
