i need a digital camera for about 200$ or less.... so what kind should i get?

Kodak, but just remember when looking...the higher the mega pixels the better the pictures turn out.

Start with the budget. This may seem backwards, but it's not. You can find a decent camera to match any amount of money you want to spend.
Next, find a friend who will help you learn how to use the camera. This "friend" could even be the clerk in your local photo shop. Buy the camera that your friend recommends so that they will be able to teach you how to use it.
After you know what you are doing and are ready for your next camera - and this will come sooner than you think - you will be in a position to make your own choice.

you also need to check out some points:
* should it be small, such that it fits into a shirt pocket, or purse
* should it be a 'good' size so that you dont press the wrong button, as the user has largish hands/fingers
so... you then need to go to a shop and try out some models.

Go to cheapest prices search engine and read some reviews on lower price cameras. You may find you not only get a great camera, but a great price too!

canon powershots are nice. mine is an s40. should be really cheap now since they're outdated but it's 4 megapixel and really solid. should be less than $150 by now. check ebay
