Osun is the goddess of love and fertility. She is the goddess of sweet waters and all things sweet. She is the giver of children along with Oba, Oya and the mother of all orisa Yemonja.
Osun is the giver of twins whose patron is Ibeji.
Osun is the essence of woman and feminity. When you hare having troubles of the heart call on her, when you are in need of money call on her, when you are barren call on her for she will give you all that you desire. She has her own river in Nigera and barren woman take offerings to her there so they could be given the gift of having children.
You are a Trinidadian so you know that they mixed the orisa with catholic saints, so she is better known as St Phelomine over there.
I hope you attended the festival last month.
Osun ba'le o means Osun, i touch ground before you. There is also Osun wa'le o which means Osun please come in.

OSUN(Oshun):
Yoruba(Nigeria, West Africa, West Indies) River Godess of
love and fertility. The daughter of Oba Jumu and Oba Do and
the consort of the God Shango. The guardian deity of the river
Osun, revered particularly in the towns and villages along the
banks of the river where sacred weapons are kept in her
shrines. Also a goddess of healing. She is worshiped
particularly by women and is honored in an annual festival, the
Ibo_Osun, during which new cultic priestesses are selected.
"Oshun, the Yoruba Goddess of Love and Life-Sustaining
Rivers, is the Goddess of all the arts, but especially dance.
Beauty belongs to Oshun and represents the human ability to
create beauty."-Sandra M. Stanton

Osun is a goddess I associate with groups in Africa (esp. Nigeria). She survives in the Caribbean in songs brought over by slaves. The Cubans call her Ochun.
