Which is easier...raising a boy or raising a girl? I know all kids are different and have different personalities but in your experience what do you think. A lot of people tell me its easier to raise a son. What's your opinion and experience?

I've been told many times that it's easier to raise a boy. People have been telling me that since my son was born, almost three years ago. One woman told me that in front of her teenage daughter. As a teacher, I found challenges with both. My son is a pretty easy-going kid, but I'm sure there are boys that are difficult. I think it depends on the kid.

I have two teenage sons, one is easy to raise, very respectful and obedient, the other is always one step ahead of me. He only does weird things to get in trouble so it's usually humorous but I'm always afraid it'll go the other way eventually. He's just "spirited"? Then I have a daughter but she's only 3, and a total angel. Loves to do housework - in fact a terrible perfectionist about it. And then I have a 1 year old who is fussy and very demanding. So I'm not much for advice here, I think all kids are different and not sure there's any way to generalize which is easier to raise. Also, I'm not sure the term "easy" even fits the issue!!!

I think that girls are easier. I have two daughters, 4 yrs and 2 yrs. both are complete opposites. My 4 yr. old is an angel in every way and my 2 yr. old is a whiny brat but also a perfectionist, but I love them both no matter what and would change nothing about them. My sister has two boys and they are horrible, it may be poor parenting but who knows. I also babysit a 4 yr. old boy and he is a bigger brat than my two girls put together. I think boys have more energy and determination to get into trouble while girls just thrive for the positive attention and aim to please. Both sexes are equally amazing and their outcome depends on how they are raised.

I have an 8 year old daughter and a 7 month old son...and my daughter was way easier as an infant, my son is so fussy and demanding!! he wakes up the minute, i move the car seat, cries for no reason after his needs are met..my daughter was an excellent baby .but now my daughter is a whiner and hopefully when my son gets to her age, he will be easier....and not whine!!!! whining drives me nuts. so from my experince...they both have their moments but right now, my son is defintely the hardest and i really do not think it's how you raise the child as i am not raising my son to be a cry baby every 15 minutes..I think it's his personality and that is just how he is.

Just depends. When it comes to certain things one might be easier. For example I've heard it's easier to potty train a girl then it is a boy. When you get right down to it, they're both probably the same.

i do not have any children of my own as of yet but i do plan on in the near future.
i really want a boy, as some have stated girls may be easier to raise as children but girls do have really bad attitudes, etc. when they become teenagers.
i would rather deal with a rowdy boy over a girl

I think that assuming you raise them both the same way, that it mostly boils down to their temperament and personality. I've had experience with both, and each one has different issues to address.

Both are challenges in different ways. Neither is easier than the other.
