I've been asking myself a similar question: a lot of the atheists in Yahoo! Q&A ask questions about religion, too....why? Do they think they will cause others to lose their religion? If so, why bother? What is it to them if I believe in God or not?
This is what I think about it: I think deep down there is something in them which cannot deny the Truth. And it troubles them--they cannot just ignore it so they keep coming back to religion--they ask questions and they answer questions and they are seeking God--they're not ready to give up yet. God Bless!

Because their heart of hearts tells them, "I must refute this. I don't want to believe it. If I can prove to myself that it's not true, I don't have to deal with it." AKA - denial.
That's not true of all but, I have seen it here. Some just don't believe it and I say, good for them; They have made up their minds.
The two areas of error are Christians who say, you" will go to hell" when they don't know and Athiest who say , "A Christian said I am going to hell..." when in reality the Christian was quoting what God said about sinners.
The rational & mature do their best.

There's a Heaven and there's a Hell. No one can judge where someone else will be going, it's not our place to do that. We only have the right to influence others to walk with the Lord.

the believers making the lives of atheists hell by daily propagating that the atheist are sinners and they would go to hell. if a person believes in god his beliefs should confine to him self. and he should not indulge in considering atheists as sinners.atheists don't believe in hell and heaven after death but they surely believe that the acts of religious fanatics making the lives of other people hell.

To me the biblical hell is a fairytale, and I don't worry about it. I just get tired of hearing it over and over and over. But I'm not an atheist.

Hell, led by the "serpent" had been destroyed in my life. The appendix is the organ of Satan. All hate and bitterness comes from the appendix; or the trash bag organ. It is a snake that sucks your life and drags you into hell.
Removing the appendix renders Satan useless, his powers void and his influence gone forever.

We're trying to demonstrate to the theists the inherent injustice and of their notion of hell, and the absurdity of thinking that an "infinitely compassionate and merciful" god would create such a place to punish people if they don't do things his way....

If I build up a myth (I use it here in its purest definition: a story interrelating man, the world, and god), and in it I have a contradiction, because I believe this myth, I may blind myself to the contradiction.
You read my story, and being a nonbeliever in it, you spot this contradiction a mile away, and wish to point it out to me.
How can you do so without referencing my myth, even though you don't believe in that myth?

Don't be silly. They don't "worry." What they're doing is pointing out the nastiness of the "condemners," who seem to gloat at the idea of others burning and suffering. Oh yeah, these are Christians..
