Is it true that the Catholic church only allows for two people to baptise your child? What if that person wanted two couples to baptise thier kid? Please help!

I was wondering because my sister in law only asked my husband to baptise thier child along with her friend... She didn't want me expect my husband and her friend.. SO I am wondering if that was a rule???????

Actually only one Godparent is necessary. You can have one godfather, one godmother, or one of each but not any more than that.

The role of the godfather and/or godmother is very important. They must be firm Catholic believers, able and ready to help the newly baptized—child or adult—on the road of Christian life.

To ensure this, a godparent must be at least 16 years old (for maturity's sake), fully initiated (having received Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist), be someone other than the legal parents, and one who leads a life in harmony with the Church.

With love in Christ.

There can only be 2 sponsors when baptizing an infant - could be a married couple or can be 2 non-blood relatives of the child.

"Candidates for Confirmation, as for Baptism, fittingly seek the spiritual help of a sponsor. To emphasize the unity of the two sacraments, it is appropriate that this be one of the baptismal godparents."
