Why didn't YOUR ancestors "fix their own country" but showed up here? If they had stayed, you wouldn't be here, chanting Nazi propaganda. You got in , let's shut the doors now, huh?
Today's immigrants are no different than your ancestors!

to "My ancestors came here legally, were naturalized and recognized, upstanding citizens. They made thier own way, learned to speak English, and did not take advantage of government handouts. "
Oh really? So did I. Only I spoke several languges perfectly, NOT just English! Have I ever gotten anything free? NO. Was I given a chance? No, because your laws are very different from the laws of your ancestors:then ANYONE could get in and stay. That's THE difference!!!

It kills me that some whites (many are cool though), say that Mexico should "fix" it's own problems, when many of the "problems" were created by unfair American policies, American business and unions. Why are hundreds of American companies allowed to go to Mexico to exploit the workers down there for pennies? And then sell that product here for hundreds of $$$$. And American corporations really want them here, so their directing their anger in the wrong direction.

The only true natives to America are the Native Americans. Now that laws have been set forth in these United States, anyone that comes here illegally is still breaking the law. My ancestors came here unwillingly as slaves.

Bunt, LAWS LAWS LAWS!!!!!
The law has changed since the first "immigrants" came from Europe. And you're going to yell and insult at the decendents who now have legal status just because you weren't born earlier or you didn't live in Europe back then?
Please how insane can you get?

The first immigrants that colonized here made up the rules. Live by them! If not then leave. Very simple.

While you're at it why don't you throw rocks at all the rich people who are wealthier than you and burn down houses of the famous?

That's very true. But, our ancestors migrated into a country that was largely vacant. They did do terrible, unforgiveable things to the native population, who were unable to resist the combination of technology and disease brought to bear against them. But, they expanded, through immigration, into a vast, mostly wilderness area, with huge untapped resources. And it began over 400 years ago. We don't live in that era anymore.

The resources are tapped, now. They still exist, but the resources illegal immigrants continually tap are American taxpayer dollars, not unclaimed land. The parallel ends with immigration, since illegal immigrants do not have superior forces to bring to bear against us, and the world is now populated by 7 billion people. There might still be unpopulated regions of the world to move to and set up a new country where people could thrive, but they don't have immediately available free health care and education, or food or housing subsidies.

As far as the 'fixing your own country' part--the first Europeans on North American soil came here to escape persecution. They succeeded for a while, but their descendants ultimately still had to fight a war to gain their independence. So, why not fix your own country? If 11 million illegal immigrant Mexican voters returned to their country to vote, would they not make a significant difference? If a revolution needs to happen to remove the Mexican ruling class, would not an army that begins with 11 million people and builds from there do the trick? Why are people willing to die to illegally emigrate to the US, but not willing to die for their own country, if that is what it takes to make change happen?

I don't have any problem with legal immigrants, but the issue of illegal immigration in the USA has reached a breaking point. One way or another, the border is likely to be closed, forcing those who wish to emigrate to seek a legal means of doing so.

Demonizing the people in the USA who want to restrict access to this country to people who obey immigration laws will not solve any problems for Mexican immigrants in the long term, and may have created such a backlash that it will actually hurt people who seek to move here in the future. If Mexican people want to see a moderate solution to this issue, they might find it will work in their favor to start acknowledging the very legitimate concerns that Americans have surrounding it.

I hate to be the bearer of the bad news, bunt, but Mexico lost the war. I know it's hard to understand, but to help, go find a map of north america, one that shows the border. Study it carefully, look for the part where Mexico ends, and the United States begins.

This is 6th grade stuff, here. The sooner we put the border fence in place, the sooner this entire sorry soap opera will be over with.

My ancestors were not illegal. There were no laws against mass immigration until 1924.My ancestors came over in 1702.They arrived and help to settle this country.they were not seeking religious freedom nor were they poor, nor of criminal back grounds.they were merchants and were looking for new worlds to establish business in.They were not illegals. They left their home country by hiring ships and paying for it with their own money. They did not take from this country they added to it . Do not think you are making a disparaging remark to me.
There was nothing wrong with my ancestors home country. There are many things wrong with Mexico, and if there were not ,why would the poor and destitute come here looking for a better life. The other illegals from other country's say the same thing.Don't let your anger fog up your intelligence. And even tho I am of German heritage, your comparison to being a Nazi is amateurism at best..Illegals are just that illegal in this country, words ,insults and unfounded, outlandish, accusations will not create a smoke screen to
cover up that facts.

So true! If only our ancestors' countries DID care enough about fixing the country they came from then our people wouldn't have had to go through leaving everything they knew and struggle once they got here. Many of them, like today, don't want to leave their homes but they had no other choice if they wanted to live. Don't you think it would be better if immigrants HAD the choice?

No one is talking about shutting the doors. No one is talking about stopping all immigration. There is a big difference between every immigrant who came to these shores legally and immigrants who don't. Personally, I think your argument insults every naturalized citizen in the United States. Using your comparison there is no difference between a thief who steals 100,000 dollars and someone who earns a 100,000 paycheck. There is a difference. Immigrants who come here legally are welcomed with open arms. Those who come here illegally are not. That's the other difference.

you are such an idiot!!! yes, our ancestors came here for a better life. but did they come here and try to make it just like their homeland? no! that's exactly what mexicans are doing! if they really wanted a better life and were hard workers they would do it legally and get an education. why are you defending them? oh wait i already answered that question "YOU ARE AN IDIOT"
P.S. we are not our ancestors so don't push on that subject anymore, ok pedro lover?

I think you are absolutely right. If our ancestors had stayed and fought for their beliefs,we wouldn't be here. No,they came here looking for a new life. And what are the immigrants now doing???The same thing. The ONLY difference (besides race) is the fact that our ancestors only had to cross the ocean and touch american soil to be legal. If only it was so easy for the immigrants now to become legal.

Oh,and something else that bugs me.All ya'll anti illegals claim that illegals get food stamps, medicaid, etc.Well, where do you think they learned about this stuff? From us americans. If someone came to you and offered to give you food stamps amd free medical, you would too.So if ya'll didn't want them knowing, then you shouldn't never have told them about it.

Sorry Bunt,I know that wasn't part of your question. But americans give illegals all this stuff and then complain. Why when it's all their fault?
