there is supposed to be a new government incentive to get people who have become unable to do their present job because of developing disabilities retrained and back onto the job market, i was wondering if anyone had any information about this or any phone numbers or website addresses that might be useful

Check with Social Security under Work Incentives. 1-800-772-1213 or www.ssa.gov

Also look for a benefits planner near you-they can find out for you and it is free.

Every state has some type of program to assist people with disabilities in the workforce as a result of the Americans with Disabilities Act...
In Texas there is the Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services or DARS.

I recommend checking with your state's department of vocational rehabilitation and also Workforce. Also check with the Social Security Administration about the Ticket to Work program. I have included several links below.
